Let your car be
part of the Legend

With its eighth edition in 2024, the Concours d'Elégance Suisse celebrates the 97th anniversary of this historic Concours since 1927 in Geneva, bringing together some one hundred exceptional automobiles from 1920 to 1989, classified by themes and anniversaries.

It is with great pleasure that we invite you and your car to the exquisite setting of the Château de Madame de Staël in Coppet, near Geneva, from Friday 14 to Sunday 16 June 2024, to celebrate these icons of style, design and innovation.

The Concours d'Elégance Suisse is one of the few historic competitions still in existence, having been held in Geneva from 1927 to 1956 before being revived in 2016. It is a great motoring tradition that continues with this 8th edition, using its unique judging rules, which have been in place since 2019. A double jury, one judging on authenticity and the other on the style and design of the cars entered, will present the winning awards.

As every year, we will be awarding two Best of Awards, now a signature of the Concours d'Elégance Suisse: the Best of Show and the Best of Sound, which pays tribute to the mechanical symphony of the legendary automobiles presented on the lawns of the Château de Coppet.

A number of exciting events await you this year :

  • Tour d'Elégance on Friday afternoon.  A tradition of the best concours, the tour of a few kilometres only will take you along the most scenic roads of our region, through picturesque villages where enthusiastic residents will most certainly applaud as you drive by.

  • Cocktails and a Culinary Journey Friday evening on the Château's lawn among the cars of the Concours.

  • Parade of cars around the Concours lawn on Saturday afternoon (optional).

  • A private hospitality space, the Drivers Lounge, where you can sit back and enjoy refreshments and light food throughout the weekend.

  • Book your table for lunch on Saturday and Sunday in the Drivers Lounge Restaurant

  • L'Art de Vivre l'Automobile, a private evening with friends on the lawn of the Concours among the world's most beautiful automobiles, to raise funds for the Theodora Foundation  www.theodora.ch

How we select cars

Comité de sélection

As entries are limited to guarantee exceptional displays, candidates must fit within the classes announced and comply with certain presentation quality criteria.

Here are a few examples of selection criteria that catch our attention: a presentation that respects authenticity, a history linked to Switzerland (sold new in Switzerland, always kept in Switzerland, car presented at the Geneva Motor Show, etc.) as well as cars that have belonged to the same family for several generations.

The traditional criteria of "Concours condition" is not decisive insofar as we favour the spirit of driving and the use of a car for its intended purpose.

Cars not selected for this edition will be given priority consideration for subsequent editions.

Authenticity Jury
Elegance Jury

The Concours d'Elegance Suisse pays tribute to the style, mechanics and very function of the automobile.  Thus the appreciation made by the jury goes beyond aesthetics must take into account the function of the car: that of being driven.  This assessment will be taken into account by the Jury so as not to penalize owners who continue to drive their cars. Indeed, the "concours condition", often considered as a selection criteria, should not refer to the state of cleanliness or the perfection of the restoration of an automobile. It is the intrinsic qualities of the automobile that will be retained, especially in consideration of the age and normal use that should be made of these automobiles.  Therefore, we appointed a Jury of Authenticity, which will judge the cars according to strict criteria of appreciation considering the respect of the authenticity and the history of the car presented.  This aims to encourage near-original preservation, whether automobiles have been restored or not.

The Jury of Elegance, on the other hand will have to judge the beauty of the style, its influence in history and finally the elegance of the competing crews.

Both juries will work together, under the aegis of the President of the Jury and the President of the Concours, aiming to award the most authentic and spectacular automobiles. The Best of Show will be chosen among class winners.  The Best of Sound will be given to the car with the most pleasant engine sound.
